COMPUTER TO PLATE (CTP):
The two units of Screen CTP pre-press system at Al Jazeera Printing Press allows print jobs to be processed digitally from the workstation to the plate making machine...without the need for the intermediate film making stage. The CTP process not only saves valuable time, but it also ensures sharpness and detail not possible using the conventional computer-to-film method. It also minimizes the accumulation of dust and quality issues caused by scratches.

OFFSET PRINTING:
Al Jazeera Printing Press has a state-of-the-art two units of 5-colour Heidelberg Speed master CD105 printing machines, CD74 plus coating printing machine. A dedicated Computer Pneumatic Control system means quality, speed and quantity are literally at the fingertips of our print specialist.

The highly sophisticated Heidelberg printing machine is one key reason why we can confidently meet tight deadlines. In addition, Al Jazeera Printing Press has a number of smaller Heidelberg offset printing machines for routine print jobs where the emphasis is more on quantity rather than on quality.

FOIL STAMPING & DIE CUTTING:
Foil stamping is used either to ensure security (e.g. to conceal the “secret number” on a mobile phone airtime recharge card) or as a design enhancement. The specialized foil-stamping process involves the application of colour or metallic foil to the paper or other material. Door hangers and counter top displays (like the ones seen in supermarkets) are shaped using a die-cutting machine. Die cutting is done after the printing process. The printed material is fed into the machine, and a set of rules (blades) cuts the desired shape. The more skilled the die maker, the more impressive the result. There are no restrictions on shape. Printing needs simplified.

BINDING/STAPLING:
The Welbound Perfect Binding Machine is another key piece of equipment at Al Jazeera Printing Press. The machine has a speed of 2,000 cycles per hour, i.e., more than three sets of a book/publication can be bound every minute.

Perfect binding is ideal for high-quality jobs, including coffee table books, magazines, special interest publications and brochures. If, on the other hand, you are looking for an economical binding option, then saddle stitching is the answer. A saddle-stitching machine literally stitches pages together. This is a popular binding option as it is far more economical than the binding method. Stapling, as an alternative to binding, is also possible using the saddle-stitching machine at Al Jazeera Printing Press. Stapling is ideal for a short-run job (e.g. a 40-page booklet).

FINISHING:
Besides enhancing the visual impact of the material, lamination (glue/thermal) also protects it from moisture, dust and premature aging.

The laminated material can either have a glossy or matte finish. Serial numbering, perforation and creasing are some of the other finishing solutions available at Al Jazeera Printing Press.
